My name is William James LaLima, but please just call me Bill. I have dedicated my life and my practice to seeking justice for regular people.
I am a seasoned attorney with proven oral advocacy and trial skills, extensive deposition and medical malpractice litigation experience; I have a passion for learning and helping people and can also effectively communicate in Spanish.
I grew up in Summerville, SC. My father was a police officer in Charleston, SC for over 30 years. I was the first in my family to get a college degree, so I know what it is like to live in a “regular” American household.
I graduated Cum Laude from USC where I majored in Theater and Speech and obtained a Cognate in Criminal Justice. I was active in USC Theater productions and was a nationally ranked member of the USC Debate Team. In 1992 I was the South Eastern Regional college debate champion. Oral arguments and public speaking are what I have trained to do.
One of the things I love most about the law is the opportunity to learn new things. I have learned physics for car accidents, metallurgical analysis for products liability cases, all manner of medical and surgical information for medical malpractice and personal injury cases. I love learning new things, and I love to help people. As a lawyer, I am blessed to be able to do both. I look forward to meeting you and helping you through your situation.
I share office space with two other attorneys; Charles Richards is an active litigator in SC, and William "Rusty" Applegate associates with our firm on an "of counsel" basis. We often associate and collaborate on cases but maintain our professional independence. I'm blessed to have two celebrated attorneys under the same roof with whom I can collaborate and seek guidance.
